The State of New Hampshire requires that an approved course of driver education includes 30 hours of classroom, 10 hours behind-the-wheel driving in the driver’s ed car and 6 hours observation. The times you see listed for a class are the classroom times. Students should expect to be present for all classes and to also allow for at least one hour of driving per week during the course. Driving hours will be offered after school, on weekends, and during the day over the summer. Students should also be practice driving at home as much as possible throughout the class, (see Practice Driving tab for information regarding practice driving).
- Students MUST be 16 by the last day of class, or 15 and 9 months prior to the first day of class in order to sign up for a given course.
- Students will be asked to turn off cell phones in class and in the car. In case of emergency, please call instructor cell phone to contact your student.
- Driving is an adult activity. It is expected that students will be respectful, responsible and drug-free. Disruptive or unsafe behavior may result in dismissal from class at instructor’s discretion.
- Students are responsible for having a copy of birth certificate/passport with them any time they are driving.
- Attendance is mandatory. As required by the state, missing more than four hours of class will result in dismissal from class. The only acceptable absence is a family or medical emergency, which shall be documented with parental or doctor note.
- Students must receive a grade of 80% on final exam in order to pass this course.
- Missed driving appointments with less than 12 hours notice will result in a $50 fee.
- Students must be NH residents.
